I had the incredible opportunity to grow up in a strong Christian home. My father was pastor for over 25 years and I benefited greatly from his teaching and personal example. At the age of 8,
I came to an understanding of my sin/rebellion against God and put my faith in Jesus for the forgiveness of my sins.

During my first semester in college I had a crisis of belief. I struggled with the reality of Christ in my life and if I really could serve Him. One night late that semester (Fall of 2000) I lay in bed and told God that if he was real and wanted me to live for him he needed to prove his reality to me. Because I couldn’t sleep, I got up and went to the community bathrooms that the guys shared in my dormitory. As I was walking back from the bathroom I met a student crying in the hallway. I asked him if he needed help and he told me that his grandfather had just passed away. Not knowing what to say, I reached for something I had heard people say as a kid. I asked him if his grandfather was a Christian? He responded that he didn’t know for sure. Still unsure of what to say I asked him if he was a Christian, because I knew that if he was a Christian, then he wouldn’t have to worry about what happens when he dies. The student looked at me and, at once, said he wanted to become a Christian. I was able to lead him in a prayer to receive Christ right there in the hallway! After I left him and went back to my room my heart was filled with incredible joy!

Christ had revealed himself to me in a real and dynamic way. Since that night I have been a follower of Jesus Christ and felt called to the ministry. My heart is to see people of all ages and nations meet the risen Christ in a real and life-changing way!
